Lotus Tea — Lotus Tea — Ceremonial Grade · USDA Organic · Hanoi, Vietnam
Vietnam's most sacred tea, now in your cup.
For centuries, Hanoi's tea masters have practiced a ritual that
produces one of the world's rarest teas: fresh green tea leaves are
layered inside living lotus flowers at night, left to absorb their
fragrance for an entire day, then removed and dried. The result is a
tea so delicately perfumed, so layered in flavor, that no artificial
flavoring in the world can replicate it.
This is that tea.
Our Lotus Green Tea is ceremonial grade — meaning it is made using the
traditional hand-layering method practiced by artisan producers on
Hanoi's West Lake (Hồ Tây), the historic home of Vietnam's finest
lotus tea. West Lake lotus flowers have a uniquely sweet, honey-like
fragrance that is considered the best in all of Vietnam. You will
taste the difference immediately.
HOW IT TASTES
Delicate, floral, and deeply complex. The lotus fragrance opens first
— soft, honeyed, almost otherworldly. The green tea underneath is
smooth and grassy with a clean, lingering sweetness on the finish.
This is a tea you drink slowly, without distraction.
HOW TO BREW
Use 1 teaspoon per 8oz water at 175°F (80°C). Steep 2 minutes exactly
— no longer, or the delicate floral notes will fade. Use filtered or
spring water for best results. This tea rewards a second and third
infusion.
HOW IT IS MADE
Fresh tea leaves → layered with lotus blooms overnight → absorbed →
separated → dried → packaged within 48 hours. Each 4oz bag requires
hundreds of lotus flowers. This is slow, artisan production. No
shortcuts. No flavoring agents. Ever.
